The GCash Card (a Mastercard debit card linked to your GCash wallet) can be used for online and in-store purchases worldwide. If you notice an incorrect or unauthorized charge on your GCash Card, here is how to dispute it.
Types of GCash Card Disputes
- Unauthorized charges on your GCash Card
- Duplicate billing for one purchase
- Charges for goods or services not received
- Defective or not-as-described merchandise
- Charges after a subscription was cancelled
Step 1: Contact the Merchant First
Before filing a dispute with GCash, contact the merchant directly. Mastercard and Visa give merchants 7–15 days to respond and settle transactions. Many disputes are resolved faster this way.
Step 2: File a GCash Card Dispute
If the merchant is unresponsive or refuses to refund:
- Download the GCash Subscriber Dispute Form from the GCash Help Center
- Complete all sections (see our Dispute Form Guide)
- Open GCash app > Help > Submit a Ticket
- Select Pay Online > GCash Card as your payment method
- Attach the completed form and supporting documents
Required Documents for GCash Card Dispute
- Completed GCash Subscriber Dispute Form
- Copy of the front and back of your GCash Card (for unauthorized charges)
- Transaction receipt (if available)
- Proof of cancellation (for subscription disputes)
- Evidence of contact with the merchant
Chargeback Process Timeline
- Merchant response period: 7–15 days
- GCash review: 24 hours to respond to your ticket
- Mastercard/Visa chargeback: Can take up to 180 days for complex cases
Note: If you placed an order and it is pending, Mastercard/Visa settlement may still be processing. Wait 7–15 days before escalating to GCash if the charge remains unresolved.
GCash Card vs. GCash Wallet Disputes
There is an important difference between GCash Card and GCash Wallet disputes:
- GCash Wallet (send/receive money): File directly via the app Help Center; no form needed
- GCash Card (merchant purchases): Requires the Subscriber Dispute Form for formal chargeback
